5 Top Tips for Healthy Happy Feet

Taking care of our feet is very important; they carry us through life, supporting us every day. Here are our top 5 tips:

1 Wash your feet every day with warm, soapy water, but avoid soaking them as this can damage your skin’s natural oils

2 Ensure that your feet are thoroughly dried, especially between your toes, where fungi like athlete’s foot can develop.

3 You should trim your toenails regularly; try not to cut them too short or at an angle, as this may lead to ingrown toenails.

4 Keep your feet warm and exercise to improve circulation. By wiggling your toes and flexing your ankle back and forth you increase blood flow to your feet, as does sitting with your legs straight and making circles with your feet. Massaging your feet also increases blood flow to the foot area.

5 You should rotate your socks and shoes every day, using fresh socks daily and allowing your shoes at least 24 hours to dry out as bacteria thrive in warm, moist conditions. You’ll also avoid odours if you do this.
